Tomato (Lycopersicum esculentum) is one of the most important horticultural crops in the world. In India, tomato is considered as first rank vegetable crop because of its more use. The action of Polyphenol Oxidases (PPO) on phenolic oxidation has a role to play in the plant’s defense. This is a short review article on the mechanism and role of PPO in tomato.References
