Abstract

Stress tolerance has long fascinated plant biologists as a challenge to understand the mechanism of plant survival under biotic and abiotic stress conditions. Exposure of plants to abiotic stresses, such as high salinity, drought, extreme light and temperature leads to major loss in crop productivity. Pearl millet is one such crop that has been facing drought conditions and less productivity of the crop. This article is a short review on the different stresses and their effect on crop productivity.
