Tomato (Lycopersicum esculentum) is an important fruit crop in America, Southern Europe, the Middle East, and India, with increasing production in China, Japan, and Southeast Asia. It is grown throughout the country. Phenylalanine Ammonia Lyase (PAL) is a chief enzyme used during plant metabolism for the biosynthesis of different natural products from Lphenylalanine. It also has a role in pathogenic defense.References
