Isolation of Bacteria from the Petals and Pollen in Euphorbia sp.

Abstract

Nature has been bestowed with many different flowers. One among the flower is the Euphorbia sp. The genus Euphorbia generates caustic lattices, which constitute a health hazard to humans and livestock. It is one among the outdoor plants, which has enormous characteristic features. The major objective of this paper is to isolate the major bacteria present in the pollen and petal region of Euphorbia flower. After the isolation and preliminary identification of the pollen and petal swabbed plates, it was evident that out of the 17 colonies formed after incubation, the major morphological characteristic of the colony was examined and pure cultured, after the biochemical test it was estimated as Bacillus sp. to confirm starch hydrolysis test was carried out and hence showed zone of clearance.
