A review on genetically modified foods

Vikrant Singh, Mehak Sharma

Abstract

Genetic modification or manipulation is a type of gene technology that modifies the genetic machinery of biological organisms, plants, and microbes. The phrase genetic modified organisms has become a contentious topic due to potential biological concerns and environmentally negative effects both for food producers and consumers The public's growing worry over GMOs, particularly in the form of genetically modified (GM) foods, is focused on the potential for short- and long-term health risks as a result of such an advanced biotech. Complex studies are being conducted independently over the world to assess the benefits and drawbacks of GM foods. We aim to outline current understanding concerning the benefits and potential issues of genetically modified foods in this study. Technology for genetically engineering crops holds a lot of potential for addressing some of the century's most pressing issues. Some recent scientific advancements in genetically modified foods and their implications in the sector.
