Article on Aspects of UV Radiations in Floriculture.

Ram Abasaheb Gagare

Abstract

ultraviolet (UV) is a type of electromagnetic radiation with wavelength range from 10 nm (Vacuum Ultraviolet Spectroscopy, 2021) (with a constant frequency of around 30 PHz) to 400 nm (750 THz), shorter than visible light, but longer than X - rays. UV rays are present in

sunlight, and they make up about 10% of the total electromagnetic radiation emanating from the Sun. The amount of UV light produced by the Sun means that the Earth would not be able to support life on dry land if much of that light were not filtered by atmosphere. The UV spectrum, therefore, has beneficial and harmful effects on health. Insects, birds, and other mammals can see near UV (NUV) (that is, shorter wavelengths than humans can see).
