The Role of the Development of Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy on Biochemical Parameters

Abstract


The disease has a wide ability to affect all parts of the body, especially organs whose tissue composition is thin, such as the eyes, kidneys and nerves, in which the effect of diabetes is the last stages or complications of diabetes Which may eventually lead to amputation of the limbs, causing permanent damage to the nerves in that area where intense heat is generated as a result of their destruction due to ischemia and nerve destruction., The training was worked in Al-Sadr Teaching Hospital and the study included a follow-up of 80 male and female patients, their ages ranged from 23 to 70 years, and the study began on 9/11/2021 and ended on (25/5/2022). The current study showed that there were significant (P<0.05) differences in age when comparing females and males with neuropathy with the control group and males with diabetes only with the latter group, as well as a significant (P<0.05) effect of age in developing diabetes and developing peripheral neuropathy. The current study also showed a significant effect (P<0.05) of gender in the level of intoxicated hemoglobin when comparing males with neuropathy and males with diabetes only with males of the control group, and the study showed significant differences in interleukin-18 (P<0.05), when comparing patients with Diabetics with peripheral neuropathy with diabetic patients without neuropathy and also with a control group. Through the current study, an effect of gender on the level of interleukin-18 appeared, and a significant increase (P<0.05) appeared when comparing a group of males and females with neuropathy with the females and males of the control group.
