Pressure Swing Adsorption – A Review

Abstract


Pressure swing adsorption (PSA) depends on air being filtered through aluminosilicate minerals known as zeolites. This review paper gives a silhouette about the PSA, mechanism of working and use of zeolites in PSA. The one use for PSA oxygen has been specially designed so that nitrogen gas is adsorbed onto it while oxygen (and argon) passes straight through. The zeolite is instantly saturated with nitrogen, so two zeolite beds are usually used together, one filtering air while the other is regenerated.
