Taxonomic studies of the Acanthaceae family of the Aravalli area of the Sawai-Madhopur village region

Abstract


Taxonomic studies of the Acanthaceae family of the aravalli region of Alwar and Sawai Madhopur areas were carried out on a total of the 20 generas. A complete taxonomic account of the generawith a complete description was carried out for 50 species. All the taxonomic accounts were given. Amongst them, the genera such as Acanthus ,Adhotoda ,Andrographis ,Barleria , Cyclanthus were dominant. , However, some of the genera could not be identified over there .Acanthaceae is the family of various economic significance and they have been utilisedfor a variety of purposes. In the aravalli areathere are very few genera present, but during the rainy season a number of genera can be found. Overall it is a small but significant work on the Acanthaceae family.
